In March, OPPO launched the OPPO F7 in India. The company then launched the flagship OPPO Find X in July with a motorized camera and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 system-on-chip. Since the last few days, the company has been teasing the OPPO F9 Pro with a small notch and VOOC charging. Now, a MySmartPrice report states that OPPO will launch another smartphone, and it’s termed as the OPPO AX5. It could launch as the OPPO R15 Neo, based on the market where it is released.
The report states that the OPPO R15 Neo will feature Qualcomm’s budget Snapdragon 450 system-on-chip. It will be available in two variants: 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. It will come in Diamond Blue and Diamond Pink colors. OPPO will bundle a screen protector and case in the box.
The phone will come with most necessary sensors, such as the accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, g-sensor, and a proximity sensor. There is no mention of a fingerprint sensor, though. This means that the phone could skip the fingerprint sensor in favor of face unlock, like the Realme 1.
The OPPO AX5/R15 Neo will be powered by a big 4,230mAh battery. It will run Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 on top.
In terms of pricing, the OPPO R15 Neo will probably be cheaper than the OPPO F9 and the OPPO F9 Pro, according to MySmartPrice. The phone could cost below ₹20,000 in India at launch.
