Apple plans To Replace Intel processor to use its custom designed ARM chips in MAC computers.

Bloomberg Report says Apple executives have project codenamed Kalamata is still in the early stages, that designs desktop-grade Arm-compatible processors, along with a macOS port, allowing the company to craft a uniform architecture across all of its product lines.

Apple shares its 5 percent annual revenue to Intel. But After the news, “
Apple is planning to its own A series custom chips for its product like iPhones and iPads.”
published in worldwide, Intel shares down approx 10 percent.

“We think that Apple is looking at ways to further integrate their hardware and software platforms, and they’ve clearly made some moves in this space, trying to integrate iOS and macOS,” said Shannon Cross, an analyst at Cross Research.

“It makes sense that they’re going in this direction. If you look at incremental R&D spend, it’s gone into ways to try to vertically integrate their components so they can add more functionality for competitive differentiation.”

What is ARM Processor?

An ARM processor is one of a family of CPUs based on the RISC (reduced instruction set computer) architecture developed by Advanced RISC Machines (ARM).

ARM makes 32-bit and 64-bit RISC multi-core processors. RISC processors are designed to perform a smaller number of types of computer instructions so that they can operate at a higher speed, performing more millions of instructions per second (MIPS).

Apple New Platform “Maripan”

Apple is currently working on new platform Marzipan that would allow users to run iPhone and iPad apps on Macs.

Apple’s current chip designs made their name in thin and light mobile devices. That would indicate Apple will start the transition with laptops before moving the designs into more demanding desktop models.

In 2005, Apple co-founder Steve jobs announced that Apple to partnership with Intel chips for its Macs
